At Penn Accounts, we are committed to staying at the forefront of regulatory change to better serve our clients and uphold the highest standards of compliance. That’s why I am pleased to confirm that Penn Accounts is now officially registered as an Authorised Corporate Service Provider (ACSP) with Companies House.
What is an Authorised Corporate Service Provider (ACSP)?
Authorised Corporate Service Providers (ACSPs) are individuals or organisations that are supervised for anti-money laundering (AML) purposes and provide services such as:
Company formation
Corporate secretarial support
Registered office services
Filing on behalf of clients
This includes professionals such as accountants, solicitors, company formation agents, and chartered secretaries.
From 18 March 2025, any third-party provider carrying out identity checks on behalf of clients will need to be registered as an ACSP.
From 8 April 2025, ACSPs will also be able to notify Companies House that they have verified someone’s identity in line with the new regulatory standards.
What This Means for Our Clients
By registering as an ACSP, Penn Accounts is authorised to verify identities and submit information to Companies House on your behalf. This is part of a wider government effort to improve transparency and tackle economic crime, ensuring only verified, legitimate individuals can be listed as company directors, people with significant control (PSCs), or other key roles.
As a registered ACSP, we now have access to:
A secure digital account with Companies House
A unique agent identity number
The ability to perform identity verification checks that meet the new Companies House standard
Authority to file documents and make declarations on behalf of our clients
Our Commitment to Compliance and Security
Becoming an ACSP is not automatic. It requires robust AML supervision and a transparent identity verification process. We are proud to meet these criteria. Our AML supervision is regulated and fully compliant with UK standards, and our identity checks are carried out using approved documentation and methods in accordance with Companies House’s verification requirements.
What You Need to Know
If you are a client of Penn Accounts, there is nothing you need to do differently. We will continue to manage your filings and corporate records as usual, now with the added assurance that our systems and procedures are fully aligned with the latest Companies House requirements.
For new clients or those setting up a company, our ACSP status gives you confidence that all filings and identity checks are handled securely, lawfully, and efficiently.
What’s next?
This is just one of several positive changes to improve corporate transparency and reduce the risk of fraud. We will continue to keep our clients informed of any further developments in this space.
If you have any questions about how this can benefit you or your business, please do not hesitate to get in touch with our team.
